New Blog

Well I am down to less than 3 months until my wedding. Time flies by unbelievably fast when there is so much to do. I finally just ordered invitations yesterday, which was a huge load off my back. Now I have to figure out what's next!

In the meantime, I've begun trying to transform my body to be in the best shape it's ever been in. Somehow, the past 3 months have left me feeling like I have gained weight and lost muscle tone everywhere. Now it's time to get down to business. There are two ways I'm going to do this: P90X and Bikram Yoga. A bit hefty, I know... but I want to see results.

So far, I've started P90X. Boy is it tough. Day 1 (which I tried on Thursday) kicked my butt. The workout was "Chest and Back," and consisted of mostly pullups and pushups. Considering the fact that I can barely do one of either of those, I could tell right away this was not going to be easy. Within the first 10 minutes, I had to ask myself if this whole thing was a good idea. But I kept trying.

I wholly intended on doing the second workout routine on Friday, but I couldn't even begin. My muscles hurt so much I could barely get out of bed. Lifting my arms to put on deoderant was a challenge. It's Sunday, and my arms and abs still hurt from that, but I decided it's time to move on. :-)

So today - Workout number 2 - Plyometrics. This was tougher than I expected too. In the beginning, I thought, "Oh, squats and lunges? I can do that!" Little did I know, about halfway through the video, my legs would feel like jelly. I started feeling like I forgot how to do squats and was almost sitting on the floor. Needless to say, I didn't make it through all the parts of the routine, but I know I got a good workout. Hopefully I can move tomorrow.

As for yoga, I'm not starting that (other than day 4 in P90X) until May. Naperville has a 30-day challenge I think I'm going to sign up for. It will be tough, but I just may give it a shot!
